TESTIMONIALS

bSAFE bFIT! is a one of a kind program that will knock your socks off. The program will get your students engaged in not only fitness, but the understanding of their bodies and healthy lifestyle. We have only just begun to pilot and utilize the program, yet both P.E. staff and classroom staff are already reaping the benefits of the quick and engaging program. Not once have I heard the usual complaints of a new program--all I am hearing is "thank you"! This program is very easy to utilize and the author, Renae Buss, is wonderful. She truly brings life to the program. Thank you for creating bSAFE bFIT! WE LOVE IT!
Dr. Sarah Mumm, Director of Curriculum, Kaneland School District #302

Renae Buss is truly a passionate elementary physical education instructor who has developed a curriculum that helps children understand the connection between physical activity and nutrition. Her program is researched based and kid tested. I personally was so impressed with the nutritional component of this program that it will now become integrated in my daily lessons Kindergarten through fifth grade. This program is a wonderful compliment to your schools current wellness policy and I highly recommend that you start implementing it now to help reduce childhood obestiy.
John Baker, 2005 IA Elementary Physical Educator of the year, Des Moines, IA

I have used Renae's Fitness Pals for 10 years and still think the program is awesome! Students want to do exercises because of the creative food characters. I have former students ask if I still do the Watermelon Jack, the Cauliflower Power, etc., in class--they loved them! It is truly an effective and unique program that educates kids!
Karilyn Claude, 2002 IA Elementary Physical Educator of the year, Algona, IA

Renae has designed a creative program that effectively combines fitness and nutritional components. The material is thorough, well-organized, and child-friendly. Complex health concepts are made easy for students. Most importantly, the learning takes place as children have fun exercising. Many of the poster activities promote cooperative learning through various partner challenges and team building exercises. bSAFE, bFIT is definitely a winner for children!

I found out that my Dad could do the Carrot Clap!
Brandi Casillas, 4th grade, Kluckhohn Elementary School, Le Mars, IA

I have purchased numerous products from Mrs. Buss for our summer extension program. She has graciously allowed us to make copies from her products to help save cost on our end. She truly wants to get this information to kids! I like that kids are active and learning about physical activity and nutrition--a wonderful program.
Karen Elliot, University of Missouri Extension, Nutrition and Health Specialist,
Kansas City, MO

When I began teaching, I knew, as a former practicing registered nurse, that I needed to incorporate nutrition into my curriculum. After hunting for an innovative program for a year, I learned of Renae's nutrition/physical activity program. It turned out to be the most creative and fun educational tool that I used during my years as an elementary physical educator. This program is a big hit with kids! They love Watermelon Jack and his friends!
Jan Bierschbach, MS, PE Central Senior Editor, Milbank, SD

I tried for years to get my classroom kids fired up to learn about the importance of nutrition and exercising. I'm happy to say that after purchasing Renae's program, they now do! I teach 5th grade and every year when we do this unit they go out to recess and "teach" the younger ones. Now, when a new school year begins, one of their first questions is "When do we get to the nutrition unit?"

What I have found to be the best about this program is how easily it is used with children who have a disability. My daughter is profoundly deaf and loves to do the Fitness Pals. She can look at the pictures for clarification, watch the demonstration and then perform the Pals. This program is so user friendly!
Melissa Eggerling, Classroom Teacher, Whiting, IA

We are currently implementing the bSAFE bFIT! Program. It is so easy to follow the written lesson plans. The program is a great way to incorporate nutrition education into the physical activities already within our curriculum. The Fitness Pals and routines are also great attention getters for the start of class. Thank you Renae, for your hard work and dedication to youth!
Lorrie Hamblen & Jennie Madsen, elementary physical education, Sugar Grove, IL
I've worked with children for over 10 years and see an increasing need to promote fitness and nutrition in our youth. I love the way you have integrated nutritious foods with exercises in a wonderful visual format! I love the characters and posters!
Lori Wilder, Classroom Teacher, VirginiaBeach, VA

My colleague and I traveled from Peoria, IL, to meet Renae and learn about her fitness program. The kids in Peoria loved the program and had fun with all the Fitness Pals. The two things that we liked most about the program were the inclusion of both physical activity and nutrition information. It is also a well-rounded program involving aerobics, strength, flexibility, etc. We used the fitness program for our summer activities and the kids enjoyed the music routines with Fitness Pals.
Carol Erickson, University of Illinois Extension, Peoria, IL

We have known Renae for many, many years. Renae has an unquenchable desire to help all children attain the best nutritional life possible. She will work her heart out trying to help all people enjoy a healthy life and lifestyle.
